Designed and curated by the collaboration between kollision, martin professional and transform, this Confederation of danish industry headquarters building in Copenhagen is surrounded by an interactive LED facade which present this busy intersection with an overflow of geometric visuals both day and night.

Lines... Everywhere
This project is starting to take over my everyday life, I am starting to see geometry in everything!
I was catching up on a bit of Don't Tell the Bride yesterday when I saw the sun shining through the blinds, thus creating these shapes on the wall... As British weather can be testing at times it did take me around 15 minutes to get the clean shot I wanted.
From looking at the change and shift between the pictures I took, it has inspired me to look more into movement and direction in motion pictures.

Decisions, decisions...
I am currently adding colour to my designs. I find that choosing what colour goes where, defiantly the hardest part of designing. I have been doing mine on photoshop so that if it all goes wrong i can quickly 'Edit', 'Undo"!
Colour Pallet
Above is a diagram i designed to display my colour pallet. In keeping with the New York concept Donna Karen created i have built my colour pallet based on a selection of the colours of the subway line.

Refining my designs
So I ended up with around 100 scribbled drawings which only I could understand, so today I narrowed them down and have started to re-draw them to look more like a collection than a bizarre game of pictionary!

Initial Designs
Above are some of the thumbnail sketches i started on today to try and transform my concept ideas down into designs.
Geometry and Movement in design could be represented by:
- Structure - Angles - Dropped shoulder seams - Sharp necklines
- Colour - Gradient - Brighter colours on top and softer colours underneath
- Material - Structured materials above soft flowing fabrics
- Print - Prints of slow sutter speed images - blurred images - Geometric designs

Time Laps
Above is video of New York in fast motion by Samuel Orr. I want to start focusing on the fast pace of a New York lifestyle and the movement created from these videos that have been sped up, its a similar movement created by slow speed shutter images.
I want to look into the movement of traffic and people and monitor someones day to work in New York, evaluate where they have been and what they came across.

Fast Life styles
DKNY is all about fashion for young people with fast and busy lifestyles. Knowing the vibe of a city like New York is key to understanding the need of DKNY's consumers and their target market.
Cluster
All above images © alan tansey
This cluster like structure was curated, designed and fabricated by a group of students and was exhibited at Pratt Institute's graduate architecture and urban design 2013 exhibition. The exhibition shows groups of project work by the student which is divided by the clusters based on where it was located, how it was conceived and what study year it was produced.
The clustered work forms a suspended cloud like structure with images directing at various angles. Exploring this exhibition, i can imagine, could feel quite cave-like. The complexity, irregularity and overall scale of the cluster could be quite intimidating to walk under, when considering it is suspended by, what looks like nylon thread.

Bolon Studio
So i have now spent a good few hours on www.designboom.com. The website is a really good source of inspiration for materials, trends, colours and shape.
'Wing' is a carpet tile that allows the consumer/architect or designer to create several of the Bolon's cleverly designed combinations.
Wing's strength is the ability to put together designs of countless colour ways and geometric designs to suit the purpose of its situation.
Design Boom
I came by the website www.designboom.com and stumbled across these geometrically stained designs. Artists David Derksen and Lex Pott have created 'transience' which is a series of these geometric mirrors created with the combination of oxidisation and its ability to create both texture and colour on reflective surfaces.
Oxidisation happens over a long period of time and is a result of silver layers reacting with water and oxygen. Derksen and Pott have experimented with sulphur that is left on the mirrors for various amounts of time, the longer the chemical is left, the deeper the colour.
